It is located in the Mexican state of Quinta Roo in the south east part of the country, in the Caribbean side and it is part fo the Maya Riviera, literally in front of Cancun like 13 kilometers or 8 miles away from the coast, and it is a very nice Resort destination as well.

How to get to from Cancun
There is a ferry service for passengers offered by Ultramar, it has service from Cancun to Isla Mujeres and from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel too.
The three point of departure, Puerto Juarez that is close to the Cancun Hotel Zone, Playa Tortugas, El Embarcadero (Kukulcan Blvd. Km. 4) and Playa Caracol (Kukulcan Blvd. Km. 9.5) in the Cancun Hotel Zone having many departures schedules along the they enough, it is a top local choice for it´s Fast and Confort vessels.
What to do
Besides to relax all day, you have many things to do in this destination, you can star by exploring the Island and to find some of the best beaches in the country such as Playa Norte where palm shaded white sand and blue sky water awaits you.
Explore the Island and step in the domains of a famous pirate fermin Mundaca in his Hacienda, a real memory from all those Caribbean Pirate tales.
Some water sports like scuba has become very important in the Island, due the MUSA Underwater Sculpture Museum, a real museum under water with lot of natural life surrounding it giving it it´s magical touch. The Garrafon Park in the south side of the island you can dive and see beautiful reefs formation, some of the main attractions.
Come and se the fishi fishi at the turtle farm or Granja Tortuja in Sac Bajo, a sanctuary dedicated to the sea life where you can see gorgeus turtles and lot of tropical fish, a real delight.
